ULLSWATER YACHT CLUB
A competition launched by the Royal Institute of British Architects to design a new clubhouse building for the Ullswater Yacht Club on Ullswater Lake in Cumbria.
The original clubhouse suffered extensive flood damage and therefore the new brief looked to design a 500sqm building suitable to withstand future flooding. A slender horizontal form, raised off the ground is designed to sit clearly as an object within the landscape, providing both a focal and navigational point.
The competition was a collaboration with arch. Ricardo Duque.
